The journey behind Nuvia – and where we’re going next.
Nuvia began as a question – a quiet discomfort that something vital was missing in the way our communities supported young women.
Why were so many girls carrying silent pain? Why did healing seem like a luxury instead of a right? Why weren’t there more spaces where adolescent girls could safely fall apart, be seen, and be rebuilt?
These questions turned into research, conversations, and a desire to design something new – a model centered not on rescue, but restoration. Nuvia was created as a space for girls to reconnect with themselves, rediscover their voice, and imagine a future no longer defined by trauma.
Nuvia began as a dream in journals, late-night research, and heartfelt conversations. But step by step, it became real.
We officially registered as a nonprofit association in France in August 2025 and have since submitted our application for 501(c)(3) status in the U.S. Our first programs will launch in Douala, Cameroon in 2026, with a 3-month pilot program designed for girls ages 13 to 25. From there, our impact will grow.
Over the next 8 years, Nuvia will expand to Kenya, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Rwanda, and Senegal – with each new country adapting to local needs while holding the same vision: to heal, to empower, and to protect girls.
Too many girls are expected to survive things they should never have endured.
We believe no girl should carry trauma alone. Whether her pain comes from violence, abandonment, poverty, illness, or simply being unheard, she deserves a safe space to begin again. Trauma is not just a wound of the past – it’s a barrier to education, relationships, and a healthy future.
Nuvia creates those spaces. Through healing circles, educational workshops, dignity kits, and community partnerships, we walk with girls toward hope. And we do so with cultural humility, professional care, and fierce love.
The name Nuvia comes from “Nu” (New in English) + “Via” (Path in Italian).
It was chosen to represent newness, nurture, and voice. Though not tied to a single language, it evokes softness, healing, and possibility. It is a name that feels like a beginning. It reflects our promise to help each participant begin a new chapter of strength, healing, and direction.
For every girl who has been silenced, Nuvia says:
We see you. Your voice matters. Your future begins here.
– Pricille Tchuitio, Founder
Nuvia was born not only from research and strategy, but from personal experience – a journey marked by struggle, resilience, and an unshakable belief in the power of healing.
Nuvia is more than an organization – it’s a movement.
As we prepare to launch in Cameroon, we’re inviting others to walk with us. Whether you are:
…you are part of this story, too.
That’s not just our tagline. It’s our commitment – from Cameroon to the world.
