Who We Are

We are more than an organization. We are a movement to restore dignity, healing, and opportunity for girls and young women. Watch this short video to learn more about who we are and the journey we’re building together.

  • Our Story
  • Our Mission
  • Our Vision

Founded in the United States as Nuvia Global Foundation, we are preparing to launch our first field programs in Cameroon in 2026. Our long-term goal is to grow responsibly across Africa as resources allow, while remaining rooted in deep community partnerships.

Nuvia partners with local hospitals, schools, faith-based organizations, and grassroots NGOs to identify participants, co-design solutions, and ensure cultural relevance in every location where we work.

To offer adolescent girls and young women a new path of healing, empowerment, and hope by addressing trauma and building resilience in their lives and communities.

A world where every girl and young woman can heal from trauma, reclaim her dignity, and realize her potential.

We can’t lift everyone, but everyone can lift her.

A Word from Our Founder

Nuvia was born from a simple yet urgent conviction: Africa’s future depends on healing its hidden wounds.

For years, I carried a desire to give back to the community that raised me. At first, I imagined opening an orphanage – but I hesitated. I feared creating something I couldn’t be present for, something that might leave children vulnerable. Then one day, I realized that my fear itself pointed to a deeper truth: the silent pain we don’t address becomes the cycle we repeat.

As I mentored women over the past four years, I saw a common thread – so many were living with unspoken trauma. They had seen their mothers endure pain and assumed it was normal. Feelings were buried, questions were left unanswered, and the wounds quietly shaped their lives.

I know that reality firsthand. In my own journey, I faced seasons of deep struggle – years where I thought I had simply “lost focus,” when in truth, I was fighting depression I couldn’t name. Like many African daughters, I was taught to be strong, to stay silent, to never let my struggles be seen as an excuse to fail.

But silence is not strength. Healing is.

Nuvia exists to break that silence. We believe that if we reach girls early – before decades of hurt settle in – we can give them the tools to heal, to understand their worth, and to make decisions from a place of clarity and confidence. This is not just about mental health; it’s about reclaiming Africa’s strength, one girl at a time.

We begin with young women not because men do not need healing, but because this is the road I have walked. My hope is that our work inspires others to create similar spaces for boys, because every life deserves the chance to heal and thrive.

If we want a strong and prosperous Africa, we must first win the war within. The change begins here – and it begins now.

Together, we can help girls heal, grow, and lead.
